2010 Sturgis Bike Rally
There are a number of events that you hear about every year and say to yourself, yeah, you know, I really have to go to that at some point. If you are a motorcycle enthusiast, one of these events is definitely the Sturgis, South Dakota Bike Rally. The history of this seminal American event goes all the way back to original forerunner of today’s rally that was held for the first time in 1938. It was the brainchild of the Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club, and it was a weekend long event that arose around a race that was contested between just nine entrants that initial year.
The Sturgis Rally has grown from those humble beginnings into a true American celebration of the motorcycle and the free spirited individuals who are passionate about the biker lifestyle. The 2010 Sturgis Rally will take place between August 9th and the 15th, and there are so many events to attend it is incredible. Legendary Texas rockers ZZ Top will rock the Rally on August 9th when it kicks off, and the band Disturbed will take the stage at 10:30 on August 13th. At various times throughout the week attendees can enjoy the Miss Buffalo Chip Beauty Pageant, extreme motorcycle stunts, machine gun shooting, The World Pickle Lickin’ Federation’s Pickle Lickin’ Contest, helicopter rides, and much, much more.
Don’t keep putting it off. You know you have to make it to the Sturgis Rally at least once in your life, and this year promises to be the best Rally ever. Make your plans early and make 2010 your year to have the time of your life at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally!
