A trip to Boston

When you are looking for a place to spend some time on a full scale vacation or even a weekend getaway, a great destination that many people may overlook is Boston, Massachusetts. Unlike some of the typical popular tourist spots like Florida and California, it is indeed frigid in New England during the winter months. You can still have a lot of fun in Beantown even when the weather is cold, but the reality is that most travelers will probably enjoy a trip to Boston considerably more during the spring and summer months when the chill is no impediment to taking long walks around town to drink in the culture.

There are so many great attractions in Boston that it would be difficult to visit them all in a single trip, so it boils down to your personal preferences. Boston is a great sports town, so any baseball fan is going to want to take in a game at venerable Fenway Park if you are luck enough to be in town when the Red Sox are at home. In fact, it’s a good idea to take a look at the schedule and plan your visit to coincide with a Sox game of particular interest. At other times of the year, you can check out a Bruins game, or catch Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and the resurgent Celtics, who are one of the most storied franchises in the history of American sports.

Other attractions include the Boston Museum of Science, Faneuil Hall Marketplace (commonly called Quincy Market), Boston Public Garden, Sam Adams Brewery, the New England Aquarium, and the Museum of Fine Arts. And if you feel like a potent potable, you may want to cruise down to Cheers Boston, which is now the name of the former Bull & Finch Pub that inspired the classic TV series. They may not know your name when arrive, but by the time you leave, that may change if you bring the right attitude.

A visit to Boston is a lot of fun, and you will find that the town has a particular irresistible charm that will leave you wanting to return as soon as you can.
