Atlanta Jazz Festival May 29th 30th

The vibrant “Capital of the New South,” Atlanta, Georgia, will host the 33rd annual Atlanta Jazz Festival on May 29th and 30th this year, and you can expect Piedmont Park to be swinging on Memorial Day weekend 2010. The two-day festival is the icing on the cake that adds an exclamation point to the month long jazz shows that take place at a variety of venues around town throughout the month of May.

So now I guess you’re thinking, that sounds pretty cool, but wait until they tell me about the ticket prices. Well, that’s one of the best thing about the Atlanta Jazz Festival–it is absolutely free to attend.

“The festival was formed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our city and has blossomed into a celebration of our nation’s contribution to human expression. Music heals. It reaches deep within the human soul and soothes and nourishes the empty hearted and cultivates the spirit of community that surges through the City of Atlanta. The Atlanta Jazz Festival is one of the city’s proudest traditions,” says Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin.

Make your plans now and head down to Atlanta and enjoy a hearty helping of hot jazz in Piedmont Park on Memorial
