Check out Uptown Saturday Night in St. Augustine, Florida
Many of us can recall learning back in elementary school that St. Augustine, Florida is the oldest city in the country, and I can personally say that the pictures that they had in the books made it look like St. Augustine would be a great place to visit. I subsequently lived in Florida for a time, and as it often happens for people who live somewhere near great attractions, I never got the chance to take advantage to my relative proximity to visit this national treasure, and I have always regretted it.
One the things that makes America great is the tradition involved in getting together for festivals and weekly or monthly gatherings where craftspeople and artisans can display and sell their wares, where there are many varieties of great food, music, and a festive atmosphere of fun and social interaction for everyone. Wherever you live, your community or some larger one nearby probably sponsors such a gathering at one time year or another. Well, St. Augustine is no exception, and they have an incredible monthly event that is going to take place this month on March 27th called Uptown Saturday Night.
This event is centered around art and antiques, and it provides people who are interested in these collectibles with an opportunity to come down to this beautiful and historic city and peruse the venerable antique district along San Marco Avenue. Listen to music, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the treasure trove of antiques that St. Augustine vendors have to offer.
If you would like to attend, the hours are from 5-9 p.m., and it’s free! If you have never been to St. Augustine, planning a getaway around one of these monthly events is a great idea, and we can guarantee that you will have enjoy spending some time in this historic
