Delhomme signed by Cleveland; Brady Quinn now a Bronco

Jake Delhomme was released by the Carolina Panthers last week, and it was an emotional and costly parting of the ways for the Panthers. Delhomme is still owed about $12.5 million by the Panthers, but the team felt as though they couldn’t move forward with Delhomme as the signal caller after he set a career-high with 18 interceptions in 2009. He led the Panthers to a great deal of success during his seven seasons under center, however, compiling a 58-40 record as a starter and a Super Bowl appearance in 2003.

But Jake Delhomme landed on his feet, signing a two year deal with the Cleveland Browns on Saturday. The Browns will pay him $7 million bucks next year, so the dude should have no trouble feeding his family for a while. But where does that leave the Browns’ Brady Quinn, who was their first round draft pick in 2007? Where if left him was on the trading block, and he was dealt to the Denver Bronco on Sunday for FB Peyton Hillis and draft considerations. He is expected to provide Kyle Orton with competition for the starting job in Denver.
