Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Fest on tap
Chicago is one of the epicenters of blues music, and if you like guitar slingers, you will want to be in the Chi-Town area this coming June 26th. Eric Clapton has assembled a stunning group of musicians to appear at the Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival that is going to be held just outside of Chicago proper at Toyota Park, which is in Bridgeview, Illinois. The concert is going to be a benefit for the The Crossroads Centre, which is an addiction treatment facility that Clapton founded in Antigua.
Some of the participants will include B.B. King, Buddy Guy, John Mayer, Jeff Beck, the Allman Brothers, Earl Klugh, Robert Cray, Albert Lee, Hubert Sumlin, and Steve Winwood.
“Slowhand” Clapton had this to say about the event:
“The Crossroads Festival is the realization of a dream for me, to gather a group of amazingly talented musicians to perform on one stage. The Crossroads performers are all musicians I admire and respect.”
Tickets will go on sale of February 20th, and this is an event that is worth a road trip to Chicago if you love blues music. We are probably not going to get too many more opportunities to see greats like B.B. King and Buddy Guy on the same stage, and when you toss in these other names, the Crossroads Guitar Festival is truly a must-see event.
