Insects as food: Banana Worm Bread recipe
Apparently the The Department of Entomology at Iowa State University is into passing along some tasty recipes for making foods that involve the ingestion of insects. Now I have watched the television series Survivorman, and that dude, Les Stroud, has to eat whatever protein he can find at times, and I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. And then there is that guy who has a show on the Food Channel who eats all kinds of weird stuff from all over the world, Andrew Zimmern, he certainly does all that he can to widen the palette in the mind’s eye. But, all of that having been said, there would seem to be no good reason to eat insects unless you had to, if for no other reason than because they really don’t provide much food. Anyway, in the spirit of the moment, here is a recipe that we found on the Iowa State University’s Entomology Department website for Banana Worm Bread. Enjoy!
