Keyless entry systems: no key to lose or forget

Modern advances have provided a foolproof solution to the lost, forgotten, or stolen key: keyless entry systems. The fact that you can never lose your key is a huge plus, but there are other advantages to the various different types of keyless entry systems. The first type of residential keyless entry system that I want to talk about is the proximity card reader. With this system you swipe a magnetic card past a reader that can sometimes be invisible from the outside. These are great, but you can lose or forget the card. They’re easy to replace, but the fact that you can in fact lose the card is a drawback.

Keyless code locks are a great choice for many homeowners. With these locks you can assign different codes to different users and disable individual codes whenever you wish. There’s no key, card, or fob that you can lose or forget, and you can easily disable a code if a roommate moves out, and a landlord can assign new codes to incoming tenants rather than changing locks. Many code locks allow for one-time user codes for service appointments or other occasions when you want to provide access to someone on a single use basis.

Another type of keyless entry system is the biometric fingerprint and hand print option. These systems initially scan the fingerprint or hand print of users, and those who are authorized to enter simply touch the pad to gain entrance. You might think that these units are cost prohibitive, but you can actually purchase a fingerprint lock for as little as around $200.

When you consider the advantages of keyless entry systems against the relatively modest prices, they provide an extraordinary value in my opinion. Keyless entry systems will save you time and money in the long run while keeping you, your valuables, and your family safe and sound.
