New England Clam Chowder Recipe
Many of us love our seafood, and one of the treats that our favorite seafood restaurants offer is that tasty, steamy cup of bowl of clam chowder that kicks of the meal. But guess what? You can make clam chowder for yourself right in the comfort of your home, and it is actually a relatively easy dish to prepare. So, select the main course of your choice, select the right wine, make yourself a nice fresh salad, and follow this recipe to prepare some New England clam chowder.
Ingredients:
One cup of diced celery
1 cup diced onion
2 cups diced blanched potatoes
8 oz. clam juice
2 cans clams
Salt to taste
Broth:
½ cup butter
½ cup flour
4 cups whole milk
Salt to taste
Red Wine
1. Simmer onions and celery and potatoes in clam juice.
2. Melt butter and add flour and whisk to make a rue. Add the milk and continue to ship. Add the clams and vegetables and continue to heat.
3. Serve in soup bowls with a splash of red wine and your favorite bread.
