Outdoor Blackened Chicken Recipe
Just about everyone likes to cook outdoors when the weather permits, and there is nothing like whipping up a good meal over some hot coals or an open fire. This recipe for blackened chicken is great outside in the backyard, when you are tailgating in the parking lot outside of your favorite sporting event, or when you are camping out in the great outdoors. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 8 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 teaspoons of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion flakes
- 2 teaspoons of paprika
- 2 teaspoons of sweet basil
- 2 teaspoons of thyme
- 1 teaspoon of white pepper
- 1 cup of melted butter or margarine
- Salt to taste
Directions:
Combine the spices in a bowl to create a seasoning mix. Dip the chicken breasts in the butter and then coat then on both sides with the seasoning mix. Grill the chicken, turning regularly, while continuing to baste it with the remaining butter.
