Palin does stand-up on Tonight Show; Romney elicits yawns from Letterman

These days the presidential election seems to go to the bigger celebrity, not the most qualified candidate with the best ideas. If that trend continues, it looks like Sarah Palin has the inside track for the Republican nomination in 2012. Last week 5.8 million viewers turned in to watch her crack jokes with Jay Leno, while just 3.7 million watched the Romney snooze-fest with David Letterman.

“The truth is I’m glad I’m not vice-president…I’m glad because I wouldn’t know what to do with all that free time,” quipped Palin. About the ceremonies that marked the conclusion of the Winter Olympics she said: “The minute I saw the giant moose I realized I hadn’t cooked anything for the kids’ dinner.”

Meanwhile, Ron Paul, who is really the most viable candidate of all with the most interesting things to say, was apparently not afforded the opportunity to speak with either on the late night talk show hosts.
