Pearl Jam to headline Hard Rock Calling in London
A lot of people who live here in America would place a visit to London at or near the top of their to-do list, and with good reason. The history, food, culture, and entertainment that is contained in Great Britain as a whole, and London in particular, is certainly alluring. When you are an American, it holds a special appeal because it is the one place that you can travel to in Europe where everyone speaks English as their first language. Of course these days, that is not even true in many parts of the United State…if I may digress for a moment, why do I have to press “1″ for English when I live in a country that teaches English as the language of the land in elementary school? And if it is important to offer services in different languages, why wasn’t my Hungarian grandmother allowed to press “17″ for Hungarian?
Anyway, if you think it would be a lot of fun to visit London, it’s best to make plans to go there when something really cool is happening. This summer there is a great festival taking place in Hyde Park that is called Hard Rock Calling, and the headline act is one of the bands that started it all in Seattle in the 1990s, Pearl Jam. The Hard Rock Calling fest is a three day, weekend-long event that is going to take place June 25-27, and Pearl Jam is headlining on that first night, Friday June 25th. Supporting Pearl Jam will be Ben Harper & Relentless 7 along with the Hives and Wolfmother, a rock outfit from down under. So call up your favorite airline, press “1″ for English, and make your plans to head across the drink to see Pearl Jam at the Hard Rock Calling festival in June
