Relaxing travel destination: Sedona, AZ
When you have limited vacation time off from your job and you are planning a trip somewhere, you can sometimes try to fit so many activities into that short period of time that you actually feel exhausted when you get home rather than refreshed. I’ve had friends come to visit me on a few different occasions when they were on vacation, and they would seem tired and stressed and anxious, telling tales of long days driving so that they could spend a couple of hours somewhere and then move on to many more hours behind the wheel to do the same 400 miles down the road.
To each his or her own, but it would seem wise to take advantage of your vacation time to the utmost and spend most of your visit on the ground somewhere that matches your interests. There are those of us who enjoy the allure of the big cities, and a vacation spent in a major metropolitan area can be exciting and enriching. But if you like to relax, breathe fresh air, and drink in some peace and quiet and sublime natural beauty, we would recommend a trip to Sedona, Arizona.
Sedona is just a couple of hours from Phoenix and about 45 minutes from Flagstaff, so one can fly into Phoenix and be in Sedona in a flash. Some people tout Sedona as a “new age” capital replete with “energy vortexes,” and this may or may not be true, but some other things are certain: the scenery is spectacular, the atmosphere is serene, and there are a multitude of great restaurants, interesting shops, art galleries, golf courses, nature tours, hiking opportunities, and world-class lodging options.
If you want to take a trip that will rejuvenate your spirits rather than tiring you out so that you need a vacation to rest up from your vacation, consider a visit to beautiful Sedona, Arizona.
