Visit Daytona Beach for value under the sun

When I lived down in southwest Florida I had the occasion to travel up through the state to conduct business up in Georgia and North Carolina quite often, and I had the opportunity to spend a little bit of time in Daytona Beach while I was traveling. Subsequently, I have had some family members relocate there, and they rave about it being a fantastic place to live or visit on a number of different levels.

One of the best things about Daytona is the extraordinary value. There are miles and miles of great beaches that are clean and inviting (and you can actually drive onto the beach in some sections), and the weather is unbelievable. I was excited to find that a night in Daytona coincided with my schedule perfectly the first time I visited, but since it was such an enticing beach destination I was concerned about the cost of accommodations. When I found out how little it cost for a room I was blown away, and the food was great and inexpensive as well.

There is a lot for the vacationer to do in Daytona, and it is a relatively short drive from all of the things that Orlando has to offer, so you can relax with an inexpensive beach-front home base while still taking in all of the Orlando attractions. There are also some major annual events that can make a visit to Daytona especially inviting. One of them is, of course, perhaps the greatest automobile race in the country, the Daytona 500. Another one is Bike Week, which is a fantastic time for motorcyclists. And a more general event, but a fun one all the same, is Spring Break in Daytona Beach.

Due to the value, location, and recreational offerings I recommend looking into Daytona Beach the next time that you are considering Florida vacation destinations.
